Last summer I wanted to take a trip to Arkansas, and ride in the Ozarks. Well, vacation time didn't work out right, and I never did go. But this year, I have enough vacation time for one or more trips. So the plans:
1. Ride with the club on a 3 day trip from the Twin Cities to Anamosa, Iowa, and back through LaCrosse Wisconsin. Anamosa is home to a fine motorcycle museum.
2. The Arkansas trip - 10 days through the Ozarks, the Pea Ridge battlefield, a castle, and a chance to sit and in a beautiful area and be away from the cares of the world. I'm probably doing this one solo, so it will be a little scary, but a real adventure.
3. Another trip that's unspecified right now. Maybe to the Canadian Rockies. Maybe to Maine to visit my Mom, or to Nova Scotia. Or maybe out to California - I used to live in the Bay Area, and I know many curvy roads that were fun on a bicycle 20 years ago, and I've always thought they would be great on a motorcycle.
It's probably going to be more of a riding summer than a flying summer. That's OK.
